What Are The Best Cuban Cigars for Beginners?

If someone is new to Cuban cigars, what should they choose? Well, Partagas or Bolivar are popular but they taste strong. I think Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 or a Montecristo No. 4 have mellow and milder taste. What do you think? What was your first Cuban cigar, and would you recommend it to beginners?
 
Sadly, unless your name is Trump or you are extremely rich, Cubans are illegal in States. For those that can afford it, they don't pay much attention to those rules though.
The Cubans I've had were Partagas, and they were decent. But honestly, have had as good from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Honduras.
