Laws around growing

What are the laws around growing your own tobacco in your country? Especially considering that tobacco is highly taxed in many countries. So even if it’s for personal use would you still need to declare this?

You don't have to pay taxes for growing in my home country, even for commercial growing. However, you will be taxed when selling your tobacco.

Some states may tax it, but here in Texas, it's like any other agricultural crop. If you are the only one using it, there is no tax. There is a tax that has to be paid both to the federal government and usually your state when you sell it.
In addition, now by FDA standards here in the states, you have to submit for approval for the blend and it costs around $150K to do it.
