Dan Rees lives in Granville, Ohio. Born and raised in Southeast Ohio, he grew up exploring the woods with friends. He still spends as much time outdoors as he can.
Ohio Briar pipes are inspired by nature — its organic lines and forms, as well as the quiet moments of peace and solitude it provides. When carving pipes, Dan seeks to bring out what each block of briar is hiding, following the motion of the grain and whorls to create shapes that reveal the wood's imperfect perfection.
